A message from our Executive Director…
No longer were the days that kids would go outside and play until the street lights came on. Our children do not ride bikes and skateboards for hours like we did when we were young. Fast food and non-physical activities such as spending time on electronics are dominating their free time. This led to an increase in children gaining weight and being diagnosed as overweight and obese. It is easy to dismiss the weight gain as a phase or a small deal, except it is a HUGE DEAL!
Today’s children are suffering at an alarming rate due to obesity. It has caused serious physical ailments and diseases, mental challenges, and financial burdens on the economy. This has to change, and we must make it happen. We have to work together to reverse this epidemic so I am asking you to learn more about Childhood Obesity and get involved. Imagine if we taught our kids to live a healthy lifestyle before they were diagnosed with a disease. They would likely live longer and teach others to do the same. It is an investment we cannot afford to pass up. Check out our website to learn how you can join our team in addressing this serious problem.
We would love to have you!
I appreciate your interest in our cause,

Our Story
Momentum Youth Sports Training is a California non-profit organization founded in 2019 by Malik Wilds. It was created to bridge the gap between physical activity and healthy nutrition. We sought to address health disparities and inequities that contribute to higher rates of obesity in certain populations, such as low-income communities and communities of color. By targeting these disparities and working to create a more equitable and inclusive environment for all children to thrive, we hope to make a positive impact on the health on California neighborhoods.
Our mission is to empower youth to combat childhood obesity through physical and nutritional education programs.
We are dedicated to fostering a healthy and active lifestyle among our participants by providing quality programs that prioritize the development of physical fitness, nutrition knowledge, and overall well-being.
By incorporating regular exercise and healthy eating habits into their daily routine, children can establish lifelong habits that promote a healthy weight and reduce the risk of obesity-related health problems. Additionally, exercise and good nutrition can help improve self-esteem and body image, leading to a positive relationship with food and physical activity.
Our goal is to equip youth with the tools and knowledge they need to make informed choices about their health, leading to a brighter and healthier future for themselves and their communities.
